The Welsh 3000s (The 14 Peaks)

Reach the summit of all the Welsh mountains over 3000ft within the space of 24 hours, without using transport. A 24 mile challenge.


The Model Railway Show at the National Slate Mueum, Llanberis

Wednesday 14th to Friday 16th February
Acivities for all ages including: free rides for children on miniature steam engines; daily demonstrations and talks, and various model train layouts on display. There will also be trade stands. Bring your own 00 gauge trains to try it out on the test track.


The Llanberis Mountain Film Festival, LLAMFF

Friday 2nd March to Sunday 4th March
The event was first established in 2002. A combination of film, photography, literature and lectures dedicated to the mountains.


The Snowdon 500/Welsh 3 Peaks Challenge

Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th May
Charity challenges to raise awareness about prostate cancer and raise funds for the Prostate Cancer Research Centre.

Take part in the Snowdon 500 Challenge climbing Mt. Snowdon (the highest mountain in England & Wales) or try the Welsh 3 Peaks Challenge; a unique opportunity to climb 3 of the most iconic mountains in Wales.
You will climb Pen Y Fan (Brecon Beacons) and then Cadair Idris (Mid Wales) on Saturday 12th May and after an overnight stop in Llanberis you climb Mt Snowdon on Sunday 13th May 2018.

Quest Wales - Run|Cycle|Kayak

Saturday 12th May
The first UK event of the Quest Adventure Series. Racers will test their ability with a choice of 3 demanding and scenic routes through the breath-taking Snowdonia National Park.

The Slateman Snowdonia Triathlon

Saturday 19th May (Sprint), Sunday 20th May (Full) and both 19th and 20th for the Slateman Savage
First a swim in Llyn Padarn with mountains all around, then cycle through the Snowdonia National Park and finish with a run through an awesome slate quarry.

Snowdonia Charity Challenge

Saturday 9th June
The Snowdonia Charity Challenge is a triathlon type of event, involving teams of 4 people cycling 40 miles, climbing Snowdon and canoeing around a lake course. All money raised goes to REGAIN, supporting men and women who have become severley paralysed following a sporting accident.

Dragon Boat Challenge on Llyn Padarn, in aid of St David's Hospice

Saturday 30th June
This is an annual race: St David’s Hospice Dragon Boat Challenge that is held at Llyn Padarn, Llanberis (LL55 4TY). This is an exciting spectacle with teams racing 40ft long Hong Kong Dragon Boats on Padarn Lake.


Llangollen International Eistedfordd

Tuesday 3rd to Sunday 8th July
Each July, thousands of musicians, singers, and dancers from around the world visit Llangollen to perform at this most colourful festivals with its unique Spirit of Peace and Goodwill.
This year includes performances by Alfie Boe, Van Morrison and Calan.

The Big Welsh Swim

Saturday 14th July
A swim in Llyn Padarn with a choice of swimming the length of the lake, either once, twice or three times! There is a mid length option too.

Scott Snowdonia Trail Marathon

Sunday 15th July
A choice of races: trail marathon, half marathon or 10k, that start and finish in Llanberis, the outdoor capital of Wales.

The 43rd International Snowdon Race

The Anglesey Sandman Triathlon

The Sandman Triathlon race is set in Newborough Forest, right by Llanddwyn Beach, Anglesey.
